“Afro circus, Afro circus dah dah dah dah dah Afro circus Afro polka dot polka dot Afro…“
Six hours after watching Madagascar 3: Europe’s Most Wanted, Marty, the zebra’s song is still playing in my head over and over. Well, isn’t it obvious that I loved the movie so much? In fact, I think this third installment is the most entertaining and most polished one among the franchise. Sometimes, the improbable indeed happen – the sequel tops the original. That, in my opinion is the case with this latest Madagascar film.
Alex, Marty, Gloria, and Melman voiced by the incredible stars Ben Stiller, Chris Rock, Jada Pinkett Smith and David Schwimmer are back still fighting to get back home to New York City. The story started with Alex and the gang in Africa where the second film “Madagascar Escape 2 Afrcica” ended. The penguins and monkeys decided to leave them to get some money from Monte Carlo casino so they could buy a plane that will bring all of them back to NYC.

They trusted the genius penguins and monkeys but Alex kept on having the weird dream of them being old and forgotten in the wild of Africa. With that, he told Marty, Gloria and Melman that they should not just sit and wait for the penguins and monkeys to come back. Instead they should go where they are – Monte Carlo casino.
They didn’t have a hard time finding the penguins but they attracted too much attention especially from the French animal control’s fearsome Capitaine Chantel DuBois (Frances McDormand). So instead of solely worrying about their trip back to NYC, they became more occupied about escaping the fierce lady villain.
Capitaine Chantel DuBois
While escaping Chantel, and at the same time finding way back home, they were forced to pretend that they were part of a circus so the travelling circus team would accept them in their train. Here, they met new characters, Vitaly, the Russian Tiger, (Brian Cranston), Gia, the jaguar (Jessica Chastain) who became the love interest of Alex, Stefano, the Italian sea lion (Martin Short), and of course, the scene stealer Sonya, the bear (Frank Welker) who became the apple of the eye of Julien voiced by the ever-hilarious Sacha Baron Cohen.

Madagascar 3: Europe’s Most Wanted is definitely a feast in the eye with all the colorful elements of the circus and the tour around Europe. The producers surely made a great way to boast the 3D effects and top-of-the-line graphics and effects of this multi-million animated film. Well, you do not have to worry that your sense of sight will only be the one satisfied in the film because more than the special effects and beautiful graphics, the third Madagascar installment also gives generous amount of heart. The story about friendship, love, passion, loyalty, acceptance, trust and all were all seasoned well to satisfy not only the taste of kids but also the adults viewers.
